London applauded Theater of Nations

The London tour of the Moscow Theater of Nations has ended with great success, TASS reports. On the stage of the largest in Europe Barbican Center, the British public watched Tales of Shukshin and Chekhov's Ivanov. Each of the plays was performed twice. The artistic director of the creative team Yevgeny Mironov, who plays the main roles in both performances, is convinced that Chekhov and Shukshin can be called unique writers. They accurately and deeply conveyed nature and the inner world of man.

The actions of Ivanov staged by Timofey Kulyabin is transferred to the present. The protagonist on stage is an office employee. His wife, whose role is played by Chulpan Khamatova, is dying, and the character himself is trying to figure out his feelings for young Sasha, who is desperately in love with him. She is played by Elizaveta Boyarskaya. The public liked the experiment with the Chekhov play.

The Theater of Nations tour in the British capital began on October 7. The play, based on the stories of Shukshin, is one of the most popular works of the Theater of Nations. The production is based on ten short stories. The premiere of the performance took place in 2008. It was represented at many European festivals, where the play was always a great success.
