Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev wins Shanghai tournament

The rising star of Russian and world tennis Daniil Medvedev won the cup and cash prize of the tournament in Shanghai, which is part of the Masters series of The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). In the final of the tournament with a prize fund of $ 7.5 million, the 23-year-old Russian, who is the fourth racket of the world, beat Alexander Zverev, who represents Germany, TASS reports.

For Daniil Medvedev, victory in Shanghai was the seventh in ATP tournaments. This season is very successful for the Russian. He completed victories in tournaments in Sofia, St. Petersburg and Cincinnati. Another victory gave Medvedev a ticket to the final ATP tournament, it will open in London on November 10.

Daniil Medvedev became world famous after participating in the US Open, in the final of which the Russian met with the legend of world sports, one of the most titled tennis players in history, Spaniard Rafael Nadal. Medvedev almost beat the legend and conquered the hearts of the American public.
