Austria hosts Russian-Austrian Choir Vienna Festival

Musicians from Russia and Austria for the sixth time united at the Choral Vienna Festival. The cultural forum is held with the assistance of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. Its program includes five concerts. The main objective of the event is to popularize national culture, promote the Russian language. The festival also contributes to the formation of a positive image of our country abroad.

The festival is organized by the non-profit organization Festival Vienna - The City of Choirs, the Club of Russian Art and Literature of the Vienna International Center of the United Nations, and the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in Austria. The forum is supported by the RCSC and the UN Russian Club in Vienna, the Russian Embassy, ​​rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Vienna.

The first speeches were held at the Vienna International Center of the United Nations. They are dedicated to the anniversary of the launch of the world's first nuclear power plant, which began to work 65 years ago in Obninsk, Moscow Region. The honorary guests of the festival were the participants of the first International Atomic Energy Agency conference on climate change and the role of nuclear energy. Another festival venue will be St. Peter's Basilica.


Among the participants of the Choral Vienna are soloists of the New Voices vocal project and the ensemble of the MEPhI male choir. Both teams came from Russia. The Austrian side is represented by the Vienna Russian Choir, the Melosol Youth Choir, the Technochoir of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Kalinka folk group.


Everyone can attend concerts; entry is free.
