Russia and South Korea to celebrate 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2020

The Foreign Ministries of Russia and South Korea have announced a competition for the best slogan for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2020. Variants of slogans are accepted until September 30, the winning phrase will be used in official events. The next year has been declared by the governments of Russia and the Republic of Korea the Year of Mutual Exchanges, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

Citizens of Russia and South Korea will be able to take part in the slogan contest. According to the Korean ambassador to Moscow Lee Sok-bae, the organizers hope that the participants will be able to offer interesting ideas, outline the state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and choose directions for further development of relations.

The slogan, which will be called the best, will be used in all official events and promotions related to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and South Korea. The winner will receive round-trip flights between Russia and Korea and free hotel accommodation for three days. Authors who qualify for the finals will receive cash prizes.

The Korean ambassador expects the events of the Year of Mutual Exchanges to enable the residents of Russia and South Korea to learn more about the history, culture and traditions of the two states. The ambassador called the level of modern development of cooperation between countries in the economic and cultural spheres unprecedented.
