World-famous musician Vladimir Spivakov celebrates 75th Anniversary

World famous Russian musician and conductor Vladimir Spivakov celebrates the 75th anniversary on September 12. Two days after the anniversary, the maestro will open a series of concerts on the stage of the Orenburg Regional Philharmonic as part of the Vladimir Spivakov Invites ... Festival. He is also going to perform in his homeland city of Ufa after the festival, TASS reports.

President Vladimir Putin congratulated the musician on his anniversary. He called him an outstanding conductor and teacher and mentioned his ascetic service to the vocation. The head of state thanked Spivakov for the preservation and development of the traditions of national culture.

Spivakov became a notable phenomenon on the world music scene back in the 1960s, as a student at the Moscow Conservatory. Successful concerts and victories at international competitions brought the young violinist worldwide fame. The conductor's work of the maestro, who worked with Russian and foreign orchestras, strengthened his world fame.

Nowadays Spivakov possesses many awards and titles, including the UNESCO Peace Artist title. He is the full holder of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, one of the planetoids was named in his honor.

Russian President's Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy called Vladimir Spivakov a man of planetwide proportions. Other experts, apart from Spivakov’s musical and organizational talents, note the outstanding pedagogical abilities of the maestro, who does a lot to support young musicians. The important work of the conductor to strengthen friendly relations between Russia and other countries of the world is also noted.

Despite his busy schedule - concerts around the world and recordings (the music library of bands led by Vladimir Spivakov includes 40 albums) - Vladimir Spivakov finds time for social and charity work. In the framework of the Moscow Mayor's Art for Children project, the supervisory board of which is headed by Spivakov, more than a hundred art schools have been repaired, more than five thousand instruments have been purchased for children.
