Pushkin Lyceum, which is one of the leading Russian schools in Australia, located in Melbourne, celebrated its 25th anniversary. The leaders and teachers told the guests of the anniversary evening about the history of the educational institution through the In Search of the Russian Language musical. The students prepared a concert where waltz was combined with rap, the Edinenie newspaper reports.
The Russian Embassy in Australia, the Russian Ethnic Representation of Victoria state, the Russian House of Melbourne and other departments and organizations of Australia and Russia congratulated the teaching staff and students on the significant date.
During the ceremony, the director and founder of Pushkin Lyceum Marina Makarova was awarded the Yesenin Gold Medal of the International Academy of Russian Literature for the preservation and popularization of the Russian language and culture of Russia.
The festive concert ended with a round dance, in which teachers, students, their parents and other people had fun. However, the anniversary evening did not end there. The guests also took part in interesting seminars and master classes for children and adults.
While the children were studying the ABC and solving math problems, their parents listened to lectures on the problems of preserving the Russian language for children and adolescents and the ways to help children learn their mother tongue.
