Three Russian scientists awarded highest scientific award in France

Russian scientists Alexander Trifonov, Vladimir Muronets and Vladimir Dubrovsky have received the Order of Academic Palms of France from the hands of the advisor on science and technology of the Embassy of France in Russia Abduh Malak. The order was introduced in 1808 by Emperor Napoleon I and is considered the highest scientific award in France, TASS reports.

The award ceremony was held as part of the 21st Mendeleev Congress on General and Applied Chemistry, which opened in St. Petersburg and will last until September 13. In addition to the French scientists who have made high achievements in the scientific field, the order is also awarded to representatives of foreign countries participating in the popularization of French culture.

The director of Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds of Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Trifonov, Head of the Animal Cell Biochemistry Department of Moscow State University Vladimir Muronets and Head of the International Laboratory for Physics of Epitaxial Nanostructures at ITMO University Vladimir Dubrovsky received the award. The awarded Russian scientists are active in the international field; their names are widely known in the scientific community.

Russkiy Mir reported that American mathematician and native of Moscow Alexander Eskin was among the winners of the prestigious Breakthrough Prize. Eskin's study on the reflection of light from mirrors was highly praised by representatives of the scientific community and the founders of the award.
