The annual Russian Fair took place with great success in Dar es Salaam, organized by the ART Association of Russian Compatriots with the support of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Organizations and the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Tanzania. The Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) became the venue for the fair.

This year many different products made by Russian compatriots were presented at the fair: jewelry and clothes made from local fabrics, dishes of Russian cuisine and the cuisine of the peoples of Russia, Russian traditional souvenirs, books from Russia and much more. Tanzanian craftsmen also demonstrated their talents and creativity at the fair.

The cultural and entertainment program for hundreds of visitors to the Russian fair was very eventful and took into account the tastes of all guests - both adults and children. Magicians and acrobats performed at the playground, animators invited children to participate in games and competitions for coloring Russian traditional patterns.

The guests were very interested in the “fashion show” - a demonstration of traditional costumes of the peoples of Russia. The smallest “model” that participated in an impromptu show turned four years old, and it was her exit that was accompanied by a storm of applause.

Tanzanian fashion designers also participated in the show, presenting women's and men's clothes sewn from traditional Tanzanian fabrics of bright colors.

The concert program with vocal and original acrobatic numbers was performed by the pupils of the Baba Watoto orphanage, Russian folk dances were presented by the famous Tanzanian dance Waka Waka ensemble. The program also involved a young talented singer Star. Students of the karate sports club at the RCSC also demonstrated their skills.

Each participant in the program received an award diploma and a T-shirt with the image of the famous Russian matreshkas.

The Russian Fair project, which attracted the enthusiastic attention of many hundreds of guests, was attended by more than 300 people - Russian compatriots and Tanzanians.
