Commemorative ceremonies, exhibitions, premieres of historical films, webinars for young compatriots living abroad - these and other events will be included in the program dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Russian Exodus, during which the ships of the squadron of the Imperial Black Sea Fleet left the ports of Crimea and Sevastopol. The events will be held in 2020, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The events that will take place in Russia and abroad in connection with the anniversary date were discussed by the participants of the first meeting of the coordination council held at the site of the Russian Military Historical Society in Moscow. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Crimean authorities, organizations of compatriots and historical societies of Russia.

One of the main events in the extensive program will be the installation in Sevastopol of a foundation stone for the future monument dedicated to the end of the Civil War. The ceremony will take place on September 20.

Most of the speakers stated that the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the “Russian Exodus” had to, first of all, tell about the Russians who were forced to find themselves outside the homeland, and the trace they left in history, culture, science and public life other countries.

The meeting discussed activities aimed at preserving the Russian historical and memorial heritage abroad, introducing Russian compatriots living abroad and descendants of the first wave of immigrants to the work.

A program of educational events for the younger generation of Russian compatriots in different countries will occupy a special place in the list of anniversary events. Director of the Moscow House of Compatriots Peter Gladkov proposed launching a series of webinars with the participation of Russian historians for Russian-speaking children and adolescents living abroad.
