Copies of 70 archival documents revealing the historical situation before the start of World War II have become part of the exhibition, which opened at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Brussels. The exposition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of war. An exhibition dedicated to the outstanding Soviet diplomat Andrey Gromyko was also opened at the center.

The exhibition of archival documents was called 1939. The beginning of the Second World War. It traces the events of the fateful 1939, which led to the outbreak of war. The documents provide a picture of what was happening, reveal the causes of the global conflict and give an idea of the work of Soviet diplomats in those years.

According to the press attache of the Russian Embassy in Belgium Violetta Churakova, the exhibition is a reminder of the lessons of the past and an attempt to tell Europeans the true story of the pre-war and war years, based on documents.

In the year of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, such exhibitions open in different cities of Europe and the world.

Note that an exhibition of documents from the Russian archives, opened in Munich, attracted the attention of not only Russian compatriots, but also Germans interested in history.

An exhibition telling about the activities of the USSR Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Andrey Gromyko was also opened at the RCSC in Brussels. The name of the exhibition was the phrase of Gromyko, eloquently characterizing his professional credo: "Ten years of negotiations is better than one day of the war."
