Conference on history of relations between Russia and China held in Vladivostok

The conference on the history of relations between Russia and China, which opened on September 3 in Vladivostok on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, will be the largest scientific event in the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Beijing, RIA Novosti reports.

The conference brought together reputable historians, the heads of universities and research centers from two countries. The forum’s organizing committee included the head of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Gao Xiang and other prominent experts.

The organizers of the event, which is unique for the scientific and educational cooperation of the two countries, were the Russian Historical Society and the History of the Fatherland Foundation.

The day before, a historical and documentary exhibition called Russia - China. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC opened in Vladivostok. The authors of the exhibition traced the centuries-old relationship between the two countries. The uniqueness of the exposition is that for the first time in one hall it was possible to collect documents testifying to the interaction of Russia and China in the economy, politics, culture and other areas in different eras.
