Albanian singer won main prize of New Wave musical competition

The New Wave International contest of young performers ended the night before with a solemn award ceremony, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes.

The Grand Prix went to the youngest participant – Albanian singer Inis Neziri. The award was presented to her by composer and producer Igor Krutoy, who is the permanent chairman of the jury. The monetary prize is three and a half million rubles.

The winner called it real happiness to receive such a high mark. The second place went to the Russian Davinci group. According to the finalists, for the first time they tried to get on the New Wave ten years ago. Now they face a new goal - the conquest of Eurovision.

Cuban singer Iliana Sanchez became the third.

Audience Award went to Spain's Juan Ricondo.

Note that the festival was held on the stage of New Wave Hall in Sochi. The concert hall was built specifically for the competition three years ago. The New Wave allows young performers to demonstrate their talents and skills to the public, and the audience to discover new names. This year, thirteen people from eleven countries from around the world fought for the victory. This creative tournament opens up new opportunities for young singers. After returning home, the New Wave participants become stars, touring groups and singers.

The competition at the main Russian resort took place for the fifth time. Earlier it was hosted by the Latvian Jurmala.
