Russia celebrates National Flag Day

National Flag Day is celebrated in Russia on Thursday, August 22, TASS reports. The celebrations have already started in the Far East of the country. The mountain climbing was organized on Sakhalin and the television tower was highlighted in the colors of tricolor in Yakutsk. Literary workshops started working in Blagoveshchensk.

A large-scale program is planned in the capital. It will last for several days and will cover the whole city. The participants of the Spasskaya Tower festival will perform at different venues of Moscow.

In Simferopol, automobile and motorcycle races will take place today. The city also praises a huge national flag, which weighs one hundred kilograms.

The udzh ritual dance will be performed by the residents of Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Krasnodar Territory and the participants of the Fisht festival of creative youth "Fisht".

Perm and Izhevsk will celebrate this day with an auto rally. A wheelchair user race is organized in Kursk. In the city of Urai in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Flag Day will be celebrated with a swim across the Konda River. A 170-kilometer swim in the Yenisei will finish in Krasnoyarsk on Thursday.
