Many visitors in Stockholm were attracted by the Shtandart frigate, which was built in St. Petersburg based on archival documents from the time of Peter the Great.

The guests were able to see the cabin of Peter I, get acquainted with other rooms and rigging, recreated from the old models. The ship will return to Stockholm on August 31, according to the website of the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden.

The Shtandart frigate was created by order of Peter I in 1703 at the Olonets Shipyard. The ship was a unique combination of English and Dutch shipbuilding schools, from which the Russian emperor took the best. After almost three hundred years, a copy of the ship was recreated in St. Petersburg by the explorer of the Russian fleet Vladimir Martusem, who became the captain of the new ship.

In early September, it will turn two decades since the new Shtandart was launched. Throughout all these years, the ship travels the world, participates in regattas, takes part in Russian and foreign historical films and acts as a floating museum.

Shtandart caused a sensation in many countries, visitors admired the insightful excursions of Vladimir Martus and the interactive features of the ship - almost everything on board can be touched with your own hands.
