About a hundred children and adolescents aged 7 to 19 took part in the session of the Orthodox children's camp, which was held in a forest near the Belgian town of Kasterlee. This is an absolute twenty years record since the tradition of holding children's Orthodox camps in Belgium and the Netherlands has been revived, the website of the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots reports.

For two decades, the camp has been held thanks to the Orthodox Youth of Holland community, as well as volunteers from among the parishioners of the Brussels-Belgian Archdiocese and the Hague-Netherlands Diocese. One day the Archbishop of the Diocese of Brussels and Belgium of the Church of Russia Simon became the guest of the camp and held the Divine Liturgy in a tent church.

Children and adolescents studied the Orthodox traditions and history of Russia, played sports and outdoor games, took part in patriotic events during the session.

Note that Archbishop Simon was awarded the prize of the Alexander Pushkin International Fund for the promotion of Russian culture several years ago. The award ceremony took place at the Russian Heritage gala evening, organized with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation.
