Seven performances, including the world premiere of Mr. Georg Ots play, will be presented by Moscow Helikon-Opera at the Saaremaa Opera Days festival, which will be held from July 23 to 28. The festival will open with The Queen of Spades opera with Vladimir Fedoseyev taking the conductor's stand, the Estonian TV and Radio Company Err.ee reports.

It is no coincidence that Estonia will become the place of the world premiere of Mr. Georg Ots – the play about the fate and work of the legendary Estonian singer and artist. The performance was staged in conjunction with the Tallinn Eesti Kontsert Theater on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Georg Ots.

According to the artistic director of Helikon-opera Dmitry Bertman, Georg Ots became the personification of the best memories of childhood, youth, parents for many people. The performance is an attempt to present the personality of an outstanding person, but the main character of the production does not appear on the stage . According to Bertman, it was important for the creators that the public feel the spirit of the singer.

Vladimir Fedoseyev, who is preparing to perform the opera The Queen of Spades with the orchestra, said that he had performed this work many times, but Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece each time opened something new to the conductor.
