Russian and Belarusian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko plan to speak at the Forum of Regions of the two countries onThursday, July 18, TASS reports. To date, they also appointed the negotiations.

Yesterday, the presidents visited the island of Valaam. According to the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, heads of the two countries had a "day of informal communication".

Earlier it was noted that the presidents are going to discuss the expansion of integration between Moscow and Minsk. Vladimir Putin recalled that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Union State. He called Belarus the closest ally of our country.

Before going to St. Petersburg, Alexander Lukashenko stressed that many issues had accumulated in bilateral relations that needed to be resolved. According to Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, the negotiations will help bring the parties together on a number of issues and determine the direction for the development of integration.

Note, the Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus opened in Saint Petersburg on July 16. More than 250 representatives of the two countries participate in it. Among them are the heads of regions and other representatives of power structures, parliamentarians, scientists, industrialists and businessmen. The event is the sixth in a row.
