Moscow State University named after Lomonosov has entered the top 40 reputational rating, prepared by the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. The oldest Russian university got 38th place of the list of the best universities in the world.

The rating is based on a survey of eminent scientists and renowned professors from many leading universities. This year more than ten thousand people from almost one hundred and forty countries were involved in it.

Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy noted that the university managed to prove once again that it was not for nothing that it had the status of one of the best universities not only in our country, but also in the global educational space. According to him, several conditions allowed achieving this at once. Scientists from Moscow State University participate in the most famous international collaborations. The university has its own research centers. University specialists were among the first in the world to take on the development of quantum technologies, cognitive science and neuroscience, the digital economy, the latest research in space and the Arctic.

In addition, MSU is very active in the international field. Departments of the university operate in Slovenia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other countries. Russian-Chinese University in Shenzhen welcomed first students two years ago. It was created by Moscow State University and the Beijing Polytechnic Institute. In the past few years alone, more than ten thousand scientists from abroad came to MSU.
