High jumper and the leader of the Russian national team in athletics Maria Lasitskene has won the gold medal at the Padua competition. Victory in Italy was the sixteenth for Russians in international tournaments in 2019. Since January, Lasitskene wins all the tournaments in which she participates, TASS reports.

In Padua, the Russian was the only one who broke the bar at a height of 1.94 meters. Lasitskene passed the nearest pursuer - Irina Gerashchenko from Ukraine - by four centimeters. The athlete participates in international tournaments in neutral status - the All-Russian Athletics Federation, suspended by the decision of the World Athletics Association, has not yet regained its previous status.

Lasitskene is the leader of world and Russian athletics for the past three years. Over the years, the athlete has won more than sixty international competitions.

Lasitskene can achieve another victory this year at the Russian Championship, which starts July 24 in Cheboksary.

The Russian athlete has gold medals of the world and European championships.
