Beslan delegation took part in memorial service for victims of Bastille Day terror attack

Russia's Ambassador in France Alexey Meshkov and Beslan delegation took part in 2016 Nice terrorist attack victims' memorial ceremony. As a result of the terrorist actions who drove his truck mowing down people who had gathered to watch the fireworks on Bastille Day, 86 persons have died. There were Russian citizens among them, TASS reports.

The ceremony took part at the Villa Massena with participation of the mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi, and mayor of Beslan German Khautov and city inhabitants. 86 candles were lit next to the memorial.

The ceremony was attended by survivors, victims’ families and French authorities, who have listened to the names of the 86 victims. One of the victim's family members proposed to open  museum of combating terrorism.

The president of the Solidarity – Children of Beslan French association Henri-Paul Falavigna said that meeting of cities' mayors is”very symbolic.” During their meeting mayors of Nice and Beslan have exchanged gifts dedicated to the bygone tragedies.
