2020 is declared the Year of Memory and Glory in Russia

2020 is declared the Year of Memory and Glory in Russia. The signature under the corresponding decree was put by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The document was published on the official portal of legal information on Monday, July 8.

The explanatory note says that it is held to preserve historical memory and is timed to the anniversary of the Great Victory. 2020 will mark 75 years since the event, which has a great global significance.

Responsibility for the implementation and preparation of activities within the Year is assigned to the Victory organizing committee. The work will be coordinated by the Head of Kremlin administration Anton Vaino.

Head of state ordered Russian Government to develop and approve a plan of major events. Report on the execution of the order is required in a month. Local executive authorities are recommended to carry out the necessary activities within its framework.
