Two photo exhibitions dedicated to Russia have opened in the cultural complex of the L'Épau Abbey. One of them is dedicated to the outstanding Soviet agronomist, botanist and geneticist Nikolai Vavilov and the Institute of Plant Industry named after him. The other exhibition is a look at Russia of a French photographer travelling along the Trans-Siberian Highway, Russkiy Ochevidets newspaper reports.

As part of the 8-exhibition project, photographs are placed along the museum halls and in the open air.

Swiss photographer Mario del Curto is the author of the Seeds of the World, Vavilov Institute photography project. During more than ten trips to the Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources and to the stations opened in various Russian regions Mario del Curto collected data for a book on Nikolai Vavilov and the institute named after him, as well as photographs for a photo exhibition. Mario was very much engaged by the study of the history of the institute and the acquaintance with its employees. He called Vavilov "a genius who was ahead of his time."

The exhibition of photographer Sebastien Tixier was named 9288 in correspondence with the number of kilometers he travelled along the Trans-Siberian road. For eight days, the Frenchman photographed fellow travelers, local residents at stations and the surrounding landscapes. It turned out an exhibition about a huge multinational country with amazing nature.

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
