Archival projects connected with Russian American history are absolutely necessary to preserve history of Russian compatriots who helped promoting Russian language and culture in US and to educate younger generation. This idea was proposed by participants of the country-themed conference in Russian Center, Washington, ksors.org reports.

The conference was dedicated to preservation of cultural and historical heritage and Russian language in the US. Representative of Russian MFA Yuri Matveev told about projects on Russian America history. Inventory and identification of new properties of Russian historical heritage are among them.

Some speakers have called to make every possible effort to preserve documents about activities of Russian Church Abroad, which has done a lot for Russian language and culture preservation. 

Representative of The Museum of Russian Culture in San Francisco Galina Yepifanova said that archival materials on Russian engineers who came to California with the first immigration wave. These engineers, according to Galina Yepifanova made a great impact on the US industrial development.
Northern Cross Association president Yuri Sandulov called to preserve family archives of Russian emigrants as an important part of Russia's history of 20th century.
