Consul General of Russia in the United States Sergey Ovsyannikov, Russian journalists and activists of compatriots' organizations told the visitors of the air show in the American town of Reading about the Immortal Regiment action and the preparation for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. The air show dedicated to the Second World War was timed to D-Day, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports.

This year, the guest of the air show was Sergey Ovsyannikov, Russia's Consul General in New York. A delegation of compatriots under his leadership conducted educational work at the air show. Visitors learned about the role of the Soviet army in the victory over the Hitler army, the cooperation of the USA and the USSR during the Second World War, the work of veteran organizations of the Great Patriotic War in the USA.

The town of Reading in the state of Pennsylvania is known for people interested in the history of the Second World War thanks to the MAAM Aviation Museum (Mid-Atlantic Air Museum). Specialists of the museum restore the aircraft of the war, which participated in the battles against the Nazis and the delivery of military and humanitarian goods to the Soviet Union. The air show, which is held in Reading, attracts about one hundred thousand visitors annually.

The veterans of the Second World War as well as representatives of youth military-historical clubs are among the guests.

American reenactors, dressed in military uniforms of the Soviet and American armies, participate in the processions of the Immortal Regiment.
