Exhibitions about the Battle of Stalingrad and the siege of Leningrad, and with the military posters of the Great Patriotic War were held in the cultural center Benito Juarez in Oaxaca, Mexico. Exhibitions, films and lectures by historians about the Great Patriotic War were timed to the Victory Day, Rossotrudnichestvo reports.

The organizers of the historical and cultural event were representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and the AMEXRUS Association of Graduates of Soviet and Russian universities. The purpose of the exhibitions, film screenings and lectures was to familiarize Mexicans with the most significant pages of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

Visitors learned what caused the start of the war, what role Red Army played in the victory over Nazis, and how the outcome of the war affected the structure of the world.

Compatriots and Mexicans who are interested in history regularly take part in Victory Day events organized by compatriots' organizations. Russkiy Mir reported that on Victory Day, the fence of the Russian embassy in Mexico City turns into a wall of memory, to which those who came attach photos of their relatives who had fought.
