Russian-Turkish festival of classical music starts in Antalya

The first Russian-Turkish festival of classical music opens on Tuesday, May 7, Trud newspaper writes. It will bring together famous performers from both countries. The venue will be Antalya, the capital of the tourism industry in Turkey, well known to the Russians. The festival will be included in the program of Cross Year of Culture and Tourism of Russia and Turkey. The main goal of the cultural forum is the development and strengthening of friendly relations between Russia and Turkey. It is planned that the number of viewers will exceed 6000 people. 

The performers will appear on the stage of the ancient amphitheater of Side, which is about 3000 years old. Among the participants are the soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Anna Aglatova, pianist Fazyl Sai, flutist Sergey Zhuravel, and accordionist Nikita Vlasov. Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra together with its artistic director Vladimir Spivakov will perform first. 

The festival program includes works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Piazzolla, and Shostakovich. The festival will end on May 11th. 

As Russkiy Mir reported, Cross Year of Culture and Tourism of the two countries started a month ago. It opened at Bolshoi Theater in the presence of the Presidents of Russia and Turkey. Troy play combined opera and ballet. Director of Ankara Opera and Ballet Theater Murat Karahan performed one of the main parts.
