Turetsky Choir and SOPRANO, popular Russian song groups, will hold a unique Victory Songs marathon in cities, countries and continents. In three weeks, 13 concerts will take place in the capitals of the USA, China, France, Austria and other countries. Russian performers will present a program of songs of the war years in the central squares of world capitals. The tour will open on May 1 in Rome, the Russkiy Ochevidets newspaper reports.
The main part of the historical marathon will end on May 25 in Beijing on Kuche Syaozhen square. On July 3, Russian singers will appear on an improvised stage in the central square of Minsk. The Moscow concert of the Victory Songs will be held on May 9, the venue for its holding will be the square of the Belorussky railway station, from where, during the years of the Great Patriotic War, recruiting teams went to the front. The project covers 12 countries in total.

According to the author of the project, Mikhail Turetsky, the songs selected for the marathon reflect the people's memory and connect Russians and the entire planet. In addition, they promote eternal values and bring peace.

Victory Songs is a project established by the Moscow government in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Russia. The action started for the first time in 2015, and after a year it became international. The first concert of the project outside of Russia took place on the central square of Berlin. In 2018, songs performed by Turetsky Choir and SOPRANO were heard in eight countries of the world.

Note, the Turetsky Choir is going to present its documentary film entitled Victory Songs. The film includes memoirs of World War II veterans living abroad, as well as excerpts from concerts that took place as part of the same-name project. The creators note that a film tells the story of the Great Patriotic War, heard firsthand.
