Passengers of long-distance trains travelling on the eve of Victory Day to learn more about the history of important operations and battles of World War II.

Information posters will appear in the trains of Russian Railways on May 1. They will be placed in the trains travelling across Russia and to European countries, TASS reports.

In honour of the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the liberation of Europe, documentary images and maps of hostilities will appear in international trains. Posters will tell about the liberation of German, Polish and Czech capitals, and about the battles for Tallinn and Konigsberg.

Passengers travelling in our country will get acquainted with historical materials about the defence of Leningrad, the Battle of Stalingrad, the battles near Rzhev, and the Arctic convoys. They will be located in the trains from Moscow to Petersburg, Volgograd, Stavropol, Belgorod, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad, Berlin, Tallinn, Vilnius, Warsaw and Prague.

According to Mikhail Myagkov, Director of Science at Russian Military Historical Society, the action is aimed at preserving historical truth. It will remind of the significance of our country in saving the world from the brown plague, and also of the cost of the Great Victory.

It is unlikely that we saw today's Europe as it is without the feat of Soviet soldiers, Mikhail Myagkov summed up.
