Conference dedicated to victims of Nazism in USSR took place in Sweden

“USSR saved the world civilization,” said Swedish historian Mario Sousa during the conference dedicated to victims of Nazism in USSR during World War 2, the website of Russian communities union in Sweden reports.

Mario Sousa said that Red Army and Soviet people paid very high price for victory in WW2 loosing more people than their alies. The expert specially marked heroism of those those who lived through the Siege of Leningrad.  The input of the USSR into the victory over Fascism was cruscial, hence USSR saved the world from Fascism, historian stated. 

Mario Sousa has also mentioned indirect involvement of Sweden in the WW2. He said that despite of caliming neutrality, Sweden was selling iron ore to Fascist Germany and let German military divisions and heavy weapons pass through its territories. According to Mario Sousa, the Crown Prince of Sweden has openly supported the fascist regime.
