The exhibition dedicated to the memory of victims of the Holocaust has started in London, TASS reports. The opening ceremony took place on Monday, April 25th. Historical and documentary exhibition entitled The Holocaust: destruction, liberation, salvation is located in the University of Queen Mary.

The exhibition reveals the scale and details of the Holocaust in the occupied territory of the Soviet Union, and also shows the role of the Red Army in saving the Jews of Europe from Nazism, tells the story of the release of prisoners of the Auschwitz death camp and their treatment by Soviet doctors.

The components of the exhibition are based on unique documents and photographs. Among the exhibits are little-known facts and documents on the extermination and rescue of Jews in the territory of the Russia.

The organizer of the exhibition is the Holocaust Center with the assistance of the Russian Jewish Congress, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Genesis Foundation and Rossotrudnichestvo. According to the co-chairman of the Holocaust center Ilya Altman, it is very important that the exposition works in one of the leading universities in London. He noted that Queen Mary’s University pays a lot of attention to students studying Russian who are interested in Russian culture and history.

Altman is convinced that the exhibition will contribute to the solution of another task: cooperation with British scientists and educators in studying the history of the Holocaust in the USSR. Scientists also join forces in studying the history of the liberation of the Nazi camps.

The exhibition will open a discussion with British scientists on historical details as well as plans to perpetuate the feat of the liberators.

Note that the exhibition had already been seen in the Czech Republic, Israel and other countries. Previously, it had been shown at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Residents of twenty Russian regions had also visited it.
