Joint projects in the field of preserving historical memory and other areas were discussed at the Beijing Palace of Friendship by representatives of Chinese People’s Friendship Society with Foreign Countries and members of Russian delegation headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Federation Council, Chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society Dmitry Mezentsev, Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

One of the joint projects could be the preparation of a collection of materials on the participation of Soviet specialists in the construction of important facilities in China in the 1950s. For example, the publication will describe the construction of a bridge across the Yangtze River in the city of Wuhan in detail. Dmitry Mezentsev invited Chinese colleagues to join the publication of historical work, which is important for both countries.

The parties also discussed the events of the festive program, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The program will include conferences, concerts and exhibitions. Dmitry Mezentsev proposed to expand cooperation, setting out specific projects, which is important for both countries.

The leaders of Russian-Chinese friendship societies also touched upon the preparation of a visit to China for young scientists and entrepreneurs from Russia. The PRC took the initiative to accept 70 Russians (including the descendants of Soviet builders and other specialists who worked in China in the 1950s) and organize a special program for them to strengthen friendship between the countries.
