A large Russian ministerial and business delegation visited Nicaragua, where it agreed to cooperate with the authorities of the country in the sphere of economy and trade, as well as on scientific and technical exchange, the El19 portal reports.

The meeting was held in the framework of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission Russia - Nicaragua. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Health Sergey Kraevoy. The meeting was attended by Russian Ambassador Andrey Budayev, representatives of government and business circles of Nicaragua.

The agreements presuppose the supply of 550 buses for the Nicaraguan urban and intercity transport network, the import of 133 thousand tons of Russian wheat, the investment of $ 35 million and the implementation of a number of other joint projects. Contacts have been established with two dozen industrial companies engaged in the fields of water supply and sanitation, energy, emergency situations, airport security and port projects.

Minister of Finance and Public Loan of Nicaragua, Ivan Acosta, stressed that the reached agreements were very important for the people of the country, as they affected many sectors, from economy and health to civil defense and business. Russian investments will provide an opportunity to create new jobs and boost the growth of the national economy.

Kraevoy assured his foreign colleagues that the Russian government appreciated good relations with the Latin American country and was looking forward to strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian, economic and other fields.
