Center for Russian Studies opened in China. It became a joint project of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The center will host conferences, lectures, symposia and other events that will intensify scientific, educational and humanitarian contacts between the countries. Center for Chinese Studies will open in Vladivostok in September, Xinhua reports.

FEFU Vice-Rector Victoria Panova expects that the new platform will strengthen ties between representatives of the scientific community of the two countries, will give impetus to strengthen cooperation in innovation areas, and will also help to link the Belt and Road Initiative with the Eurasian Economic Union. CASS Vice-President Gao Xiang said that the Center is aimed at expanding scientific ties and working out new areas of interaction, including ones in the field of education.

Russkiy Mir reported that Russian scientists were invited to participate in the creation of the Shanghai Science and Technology Zone, the largest scientific project in China. This was discussed during the visit of the delegation of Russian Academy of Sciences in China. Scientists of the two countries are launching joint research in a number of innovative areas in the near future.
