Official registration of  Total Dictation participants starts today, April 3, Rossiiskaya Gazeta reports.

Not less than 250 thousand people are going to participate in the action this year. 79 countries join the action that will unfold in 3000 locations. 500 places in Moscow and St. Petersburg host the registration process.

The geography of the dictation is expanding every year, it will take place in Cuba, the UAE, Peru and Myanmar for the first time in 2019. The fourth part of the text has been written specially for overseas participants also for the first time. 

Russkiy mir reported earlier that 3-5% of participants got an excellent mark every year. According to Rebkovets, this is a good result. She expressed the hope that even bad marks would not be a reason for frustration, but inspiration for development.

In addition, excellent assessments for the dictation already bring practical benefits. The Ural Federal University wants to add a score for to the results of the Unified State Exam for those applicants who got an A during the Total dictation. Other universities may follow its example.
