BraVo Classic Award held at Bolshoi Theater

World opera star Montserrat Caballe became BraVo award winner posthumously for her huge contribution to world music culture, Vesti TV channel reports. 

The award ceremony took place on the historical stage of Bolshoi Theater on Tuesday, March 19. Great singer’s daughter Montserrat Marti-i-Caballe received the award.

Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow and Astana-Opera Theater shared the victory in The Best Concert Venue category.

Guest soloist of Bolshoi Theater Venera Gimadieva was recognized the best classical female vocalist. Hao Zhang Tian won in men's category. The Orchestra of Svetlanov was called the Orchestra of the Year. Russian pianist Ivan Bessonov became the Discovery of the Year. Opera singer Angela Gheorghiu received the World Star award. 

The performer of the main part in Nureyev ballet Vladislav Lantratov received the award from the hands of famous British actress Helen Mirren. This production by Kirill Serebrennikov at Bolshoi Theater was called the Ballet of the Year. 

The Triumph of Time and Truth (Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno) opera by Konstantin Bogomolov became Opera of the Year. 

Loneliness song with lyrics by Mikhail Gutseriev for Pilgrim movie became the best soundtrack. Hollywood actor John Travolta presented the award. 

As Russkiy Mir reported, the award ceremony was dedicated to Dmitry Hvorostovsky last year. BraVo International Professional Music Award was established in 2018. Winners are determined in 24 categories. Half of them represent popular music, and the other half is for classical art.
