Compatriots’ children living in Switzerland became students of the International School of Young Diplomats. Matryoshka Educational Center and the International Association of Native Language in Switzerland initiated the project.

Diplomatic Academy of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported their initiative. It accepted such young students from abroad for the first time.

Group of 21 people attended lectures and trainings, learned about the types of diplomatic protocol and etiquette, negotiating, the specifics of international relations, oratory and acting skills.

Official visits to Swiss and Portuguese embassies in Russia became an important part of the program. Young guests were assigned the mission of diplomatic couriers. As part of the official reception at the Ambassador of Switzerland in Moscow, they handed over credentials from his colleague, Head of Russian diplomatic mission in Switzerland.

Children also visited the Museum of History of Russian diplomatic service, Moscow Art Theater, Bolshoi Theater, Tretyakov Gallery and Kremlin.

Guests from Switzerland had the unique opportunity to learn more about our country and touch Russian history.

Note, children from the families of Russian compatriots living in Switzerland visited the ancient city of Pereslavl-Zalessky. The city on the Lake Pleshcheyevo in Yaroslavl region was not chosen by chance. Alexander Nevsky was born here. This saint is considered the patron of national diplomacy.
