Maslenitsa Russian culture festival starts in London

11th Maslenitsa Russian culture festival starts in London on March, 4, TASS reports. According to its head Olga Bakaleets, this year the program is prepared to attract various public – families, kids from Russian families and locals. 

The festival's program will include Russian cuisine night in the Winter restaurant.Traditional Russian pancakes, winter farewell with ditties and Russia, the Royal Family and the Romanovs exhibition in Buckingham Palace are among major events. Artisan market is also included in the program.

The final point of the program is a concert of Russian and British artists from Russia and the UK. They will perform at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Westminster Abbey. Ensemble Productions with support of The Knowledge School and Russkiy Mir Foundation organised the event. Russian classical and contemporary music to be performed. 

Maslenitsa in London had such success that the festival was launched in other countries, said Olga Bakaleets. The role of culture cannot be overemphasized, especially now when the political tension between Moscow and London is pretty visible.
