The commemorative medals issued by the Russian Historical Society in Australia were added to the collections of Pushkin Museum, State Historical Museum, Hermitage and Russian Museum. A series of five medals were handed over to leading Russian museums by the authors of sketches of commemorative badges Peter and Kira Tatarinov, Unification/Edinenie Russian Newspaper Australia reports.

The medals created by Peter and Kira reflect the most vivid and memorable pages in the history of Russian Australia. They are awarded to compatriots, participants of ceremonies for memorable dates, and official representatives of Russia and other countries. For example, the President and Ministers of Vanuatu received a medal in honor of the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Russian sloop Diana in this Pacific country in 2009.

Peter and Kira Tatarinov created the first memorial badge in 2007 to mark the 200th anniversary of the arrival of Russian ship Neva in Australia. They also produced a medal for the 190th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian navigators with engraved portraits of Bellingshausen and Lazarev.

Peter and Kira issued a medal to the anniversary of the White Army’s exodus from Vladivostok in 2012. The work on this badge was special for them; their fathers left their homeland on the ships of Russian flotilla.

According to authors of the medals, Russian museums thanked them for the transferred exhibits. They received a letter signed by the Director of Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky. The Peter and Kira said that they were very pleased by the interest of the leading Russian museums in the life of Russian community and the history of Russian Australia.
