Russian-speaking youth of Italy drawn up development plans for 2019

Joint projects with Russian communities in foreign countries and Russian peers, master classes and meetings with young entrepreneurs and cultural figures; these and other events were included into 2019 road map drawn up by the participants of the 2nd Regional Conference of Young Compatriots of Italy. 

The representatives of youth organizations, students and professors from Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region became the participants in the conference.It was organized by the Youth in Action movement within the association of former USSR natives. This youth movement started in 2014 and united Russian-speaking youth in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region.

The main objective of the conference was to familiarize the youth with the work of Coordinating Council of Compatriots in Italy, to present an all-Russian educational youth forums and to take stock of projects implemented in 2018. 

The leader of Youth in Action movement Natalia Greer delivered the inaugural address to the participants, pointing out the importance of such events. Natalia described the activities of the youth movement since its establishment and summarized the results of work in 2018. 

The main event of the year to some members of the youth movement was participation in The World Youth Forum of Russian Compatriots in Bulgaria. The project coordinator Darya Byrsany told about the results of national educational youth forums for young compatriots that took place in Russia in 2018, as well as about the results of 6th World Congress of Russian Compatriots. According to Darya, many young compatriots are not aware of Russian organizations that exist in Italy and can be involved in joint events aimed to maintain Russian language and culture. 

Young people were asked to determine the directions of young compatriots’ interaction in 2019. The main topic of the discussion was the incorporation of Russian compatriots from all regions of Italy and the need for holding the youth conference for Russian compatriots.

As a result of the conference, the road map of development in 2019 was adopted. Russian compatriots committed themselves to pursue the goal of interaction with youth organizations and active young people from other regions of Italy, organizing meetings and webinars for with young entrepreneurs and culture figures, as well as helding self-development workshops with Russian experts.
