Krasnoyarsk State Theatre brings three ballets to London

Krasnoyarsk State Theatre of Opera and Ballet will perform The Cinderella, The Nutcracker and Vain Precautions ballets in London’s New Wimbledon Theatre on January 31 - February 2.

The Cinderella ballet by Sergei Prokofiev was staged in in Krasnoyarsk Theater in 2007, and ten years later it’s second version was made. The premiere of The Nutcracker took place eight years ago during the New Year’s celebrations. Krasnoyarsk Theater performs Vain Precautions in Russia and other countries since 2011. The Theater is well known in the United Kingdom; it held 4-month tour with more than 100 performances in 20 British cities in spring of 2018. 

Krasnoyarsk is well known among the audience not only because of the Theater of Opera and Ballet, but also as a birthplace of Dmitri Hvorostovsky whose name was given to the theater. Earlier leading singers and musicians of the world attended the memorial concert for Hvorostovsky at the Royal Theater of Opera and Ballet in London.
