British audience will watch Bolshoi Theater ballets in cinemas

British audience will have an opportunity to watch Don Quixote, The Sleeping Beauty, Bayaderka and La Sylphide performances of Bolshoi Theater’s classical plays with the participation of celebrities in cinemas in 2019. The shows will be organized as live broadcasts, and the viewers will feel the effect of presence thanks to technical innovations in cinemas, Angliya newspaper informs. 

Thousands of British people watched Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and the Mouse King performed by artists of Bolshoi Theater on Christmas days. The acquaintance to classical plays of one of the most famous theaters of opera and ballet of the world will continue in 2019. 

The Golden Age ballet by Dmitri Shostakovich, which will be performed in april, is called one of the major ballet broadcast of current season. According to Head of the Bolshoi Ballet Company Makhar Vaziev, broadcasts give the theater an opportunity to show its art all over the world and present the new talented dancers to theater and ballet lovers. 

The ballet broadcasts require special skills of filming and directing, it is not the same as football game or dramatic performance filming. The team of more than 50 professionals work on the broadcast; they transmit the large-scale image of almost 100 artist on the stage along with the atmosphere and reaction of the auditorium.
