Neue Presse published the results of survey about the attitude of German residents to Nord Stream 2 building. Vyacheslav Nikonov, the Chairman of the Education Committee of State Duma, Board Chairman of Russkiy Mir Foundation and well-known expert in international relations commented the results.

73% of Germans have supported the Nord Stream 2 building, and only 16% are against it. Smart people. Germans do not have the alternative after phasing out of nuclear power generation. American natural gas is not only expensive, but there is not enough amount of it. For Germany, this is a matter of national sovereignty as well. However, the USA will not calm down and will try to ruin the project in any possible way,” Nikonow wrote on his Facebook page.
