Russian Emigre film festival started accepting applications, the website of Russkiy Put cinema club informs. The 13th Festival will take place in autumn of 2019.

Organizers note that festival will select the movies dedicated to the history of World War I, October revolution, Civil War, and life of Russian people abroad. Within the forum, there will be shown feature films and documentaries.

As Russkiy Mir reported, last year’s Russian Emigre winner was The Role by Konstantin Lopushansky.

Distant Relatives film won the non-fiction nomination. Marina Trush and Vladimir Samorodov dedicated this movie to the life of Petr Chahotin, Russian emigrants’ child, artist who lives in Italy.

The main prize of the showcase, that takes place in Solzhenitsyn Centre of Russian Emigre Studies in Moscow, is the bronze Philosophical Steamer sculpture.

Russian Emigre remains the only showcase dedicated to Russian emigration. Despite the fact that this is a narrow subject, more and more applications are being received each year. This is the proof that modern authors are interested in emigration history.
