Actions of support of Lithuanian diplomat, anti-fascist and member of the opposition Algirdas Paleckis will take place in different countries on January 14,  2019.

Member of the Union of Journalists of Latvia and regular author of Russkiy Mir portal Alla Berezovskaya encourages like-minded people to join the action.

“They try to intimidate and break Algirdas for political dissent. His friends are not aware of his health status, government withholds this information, and his relatives refuse to contact the reporters. No parcels are allowed for political prisoner,” Alla posted on her Facebook page.

Picket in Vilnius will start near the Seimas Palace at 13:30. At 12:00, members of Latvian Anti-Fascist Committee will hold a solidarity action. Similar pickets to support Algirdas will also take place in Estonia, Russia and Mexico.

Note, Algirdas Paleckis was arrested in November when he was charged with espionage for Russia. In 2012, he was already convicted for his statement made on public about the shooting near Vilnius TV Tower on January 13, 1991 and was sentenced to a fine of 3000 Euro. He was deprived of his Order of Merit of the Lithuania, that he received in 2004.
