Moscow helps compatriots preserve Russian language

According to the press office of the Department for External Economic and International Relations, working meetings and seminars, devoted to the issues of Russian language studying and preserving it among the compatriots living abroad, were held in 6 countries in 2018. The meetings with the support of the Moscow City Government took place in Mexico, Peru, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, and Uzbekistan, Vechernyaya Moskva informs.

Heads of coordinating councils for compatriots, public figures, experts and Russian language teachers, Moscow delegations, and the employees of Russian institutions abroad participated in the round tables and seminars.

According to reports, Moscow educational organizations also help foreign schools teach Russian, providing them Russian books, modern computer equipment, and special courses for teachers; hosting the Russian language olympiads for students, and other activities.
