China highly values relations with Russia, which are developing in the spirit of partnership and good-neighborliness, the head of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, Li Hui, noted. He reminded that bilateral cooperation had been evolving over many decades, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

The ambassador noted that two countries were going to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in the upcoming year.

Moscow and Beijing have become much closer because of the aggressive policy of Western countries, which has been going on for several years now.

Economic restrictions, sanctions and trade wars, as well as the attempts to drive a wedge between the two countries are among the examples of this policy. Now and then there are some reports that the Chinese allegedly seized the entire Russian Far East. There are also claims that Russian and Chinese interests collide somewhere in third countries.

Nothing of the kind happens, the ambassador stressed. Residents of China are not going to move to other countries in large numbers. Many of them work abroad but return home after a few years.

There are more 1,200 enterprises with the participation of the Chinese side in Russia. More than fifty percent of them are joint.

The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission also added that 2018 was the first "cross" year of interregional cooperation and work would carry on into 2019. Almost 150 partnership agreements have been concluded between the cities of the two countries to date.
