Kiev authorities prepare military provocations on the border with the Crimea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper. He promised that the response to the provocation would be such that everyone would have a hard time.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that about 12 thousand military officers had already been pulled to the contact line in Donbass. According to reports, Kiev wants to seize several localities in the neutral zone and reach the Russian border.

Poroshenko does not start acting like this without previous discussions with Western advisors, Sergey Lavrov believes. And they asked him not to bring the conflict to such an extent, which would be followed by a full-scale answer. At the same time, Ukrainian president is advised to support slow fighting.

There is no doubt that the provocations will continue in the future, Sergey Lavrov is convinced.

He also called a big mistake a possible withdrawal from the Minsk agreements. Kiev was counting on this step, he added, but Russia would not have a war with Ukraine. We are still not at war with Ukraine - Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine fight with the Kiev authorities, he specified.

Russia has relations with the Ukrainian state. And it is much more important than those who have seized the power. I’m sure, the minister added, the majority of the Ukrainian people strive for peace and want relations with Russia to improve.

Sergey Lavrov mentioned contacts with Washington. He explained that Trump did not palter with the truth when he talked about how he would like good relations with Moscow. The degree of Russophobia increases because of the inner political struggle in the United States.

It is a pity when global stability is sacrificed to political annoyances, the minister concludes.
