The annual Youth Forum takes place on November, 30 in the Russian Consulate General in New York. The participants are going to discuss future of the Russian youth in the US and the development of the Russian-speaking community as well as the ways of preserving the historical heritage and the promotion of the Russian culture. About 200 leaders of the youth groups and organizations of young compatriots aged 18-35 are to take part in the forum, the site of the Coordinating Council of Public Organizations of Russian Compatriots in the US reports.

The participants are to discuss the role of the youth in the promotion of the Russian art and culture in the US, the relations between compatriot organizations, projects and events aimed at the preservation of the Russian language, traditions, historical heritage and the common history as well as the ways to develop the Russian community.
In addition to the leaders of youth organizations the forum awaits young specialists in various spheres and entrepreneurs as the program of the meeting includes discussions of possible common projects in different areas.

The Russian youth in the US makes its presence known by cultural events in different American cities and towns. Earlier Russkiy Mir reported the Russian-speaking youth to have celebrated Russia’s National Unity Day by running an 8-kilometer marathon in NY’s Central Park. The youth also marked the national holiday by walking the streets in the Russian national costumes.
