G20 summit starts in Buenos Aires

Russian president takes part in the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, TASS reports. According to the Presidential Administration, two days of the summit are to be intense. There is the meeting of the leaders of  BRICS countries as well as the informal meeting of the heads of Russia, India and China on the schedule. 

The program also includes a lot of bilateral meetings as well as a meeting with the president of Argentina Mauricio Macri.The signing of documents is planned during the event. 

The presidential aide in international affairs Yury Ushakov, says practically every minute is taken into account in Vladimir Putin’s schedule overseas.

This is the first time when the G20 Summit is held in South America. The leaders of nineteen countries as well as the heads of the European Union are to join the Russian leader. Spain is to take its part as a special guest in Buenos Aires. Traditionally the representatives of key international organizations also join the summit.

The leaders of 20 countries start the summit with Retreat – an informal discussion. The participants are going to discuss how to build up a dialogue on the world development for the next 10 years during this meeting.
The Russian leader is going to present a report at one of the summit sessions and discuss trade conflicts and unilateral sanctions. Vladimir Putin is to propose measures to strengthen the role of the WTO.

He is also going to discuss the issues of combining the efforts of the world community to fight against terrorism and solve regional crises. The discussion with the leaders of China is devoted to the issues of forming and strengthening the equal and indivisible security and relations in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The President of Russia is to have a lot of bilateral discussions including meeting with the Chinese leader, the German chancellor, the French president and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. The Kremlin does not exclude that additional pull-asides could take place.
