The Territory of Russian Language International Cinema Forum has gathered in the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Center in Paris children and young artists and directors from seven countries. During the ten days of the festival, youth and children's theaters will show performances in Russian. Workshops and joint performances will be held, the Russkiy Ochevidets reports.

The forum was a continuation of cooperation between the Aprelik Paris Theater Center and the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts from St. Petersburg (RSIPA). The Paris Theater, which plays performances in Russian, and RSIPA Associate Professor Maxim Mikhailov performed several joint productions. One of them, the play Winnie the Pooh opened the forum.

Aprelik also showed its new version of Emelya. New performances will appear during the visit of Maxim Mikhailov, who will work with young artists for a week and a half. Fifteen four-year-students of RSIPA arrived in Paris to help him.

Russkiy Mir reported that the Aprelik Theater was founded thirteen years ago. It originated  from an extra class for children from Russian-speaking families this way they could improve the Russian language and become familiar with Russian culture.

Speaking about children's theaters, Maxim Mikhailov noted the most important role of the parents of artists who in every possible way help groups to exist and develop - they sew costumes and find props. According to the associate professor of RSIPA, the dedication of parents can be explained by their motivation - to transfer the traditions and cultural code of Russia to their children.
